Oh what a busy month it's been!

So now Caleb is rolling back to front...
Sitting up...
Crawling...
And pulling up on everything!!!
And this is a new way for him to sleep...

We took our first trip to the park, don't know how sure he was about it at first...

But once he saw his cousins having fun...

He thought maybe it wasn't too bad...

Until we put him on the slide...

He now has 4 teeth, 2 on the bottom and 2 on the top.
(Not that he'll actually open his mouth and get a pic at the same time).

And he chatters away...mostly dadadada for now (although we're working on mamamama:). He has a happy yell and an upset yell (I'm learning the difference) and sings a little song to let me know he's getting tired. It's amazing what we can learn about our kids in such a short time.

He is starting to get a personality and become his own little person. Every day is a new learning experience and so much fun!

And Kiersten and Caleb are really bonding and do so good together.
I have to say that I have a couple of adorable kids:)

Kiersten is back to school now, and she seems to be liking it. Can't believe she's in the 6th grade already.

We went to a mom 2 mom sale, so of course I came out with a ton of kids clothes and she came out with this...

I can't believe the summers over already and we took our last trip on the boat...

Kiersten decided to try and sit patiently and wait for a hummingbird to show up the last time we went up north. Even though every time one got close she'd flinch cuz she thought it was gonna get her:)

This has been a great summer and I'm sad to see it almost over. It was so fun to have so many firsts with Caleb and to see Kiersten and Caleb hang out together and get along so well. The other day I went in her room to check on them and they were playing cars together...just made my heart melt. Caleb couldn't ask for a better big sis!!!

Bill and I are still pretty boring...work, work, work:(.  Caleb keeps me busy on my days off since he is go, go, go  (I cherish nap time:) but I wouldn't have it any other way!

6 Months and Counting...

So Caleb is 6 months old now and I just can't say enough how I can't believe how fast it has gone by. We had his 6 month check up yesterday and the doctor said he is a very healthy boy!  He's 17 pounds 7 ounces (50th percentile), but a shorty like his mom and dad at 25 1/4 inches (20th percentile).
We are going strong on the baby food and have even branched out to chicken bones that Aunt Jeri feeds him:)
He has also started holding his own bottle which is bittersweet in that's he's more independent but we don't want him too independent yet;)
We have taken our first couple of trips out on the boat as well. The first time he wasn't such a huge fan cuz the water was still a little chilly but the second time wasn't too bad. I think he's still a much bigger fan of splashing and kicking in the bathtub though.
Those two bottom teeth have finally broke through so we are back to getting 12 hours of sleep for the moment (I know that wont last forever though:)
As for moving this boy scoots everywhere!  He's not so much crawling but rather getting up on all fours and lunging forward. He's even started sitting up on his own!  I look over one day and he's managed to get his butt on the floor and he's hesitantly trying to balance himself upright. Moms not ready for all this!
And he loves the kitties. We have this great cat that lets him do whatever he wants to him (within reason) and he just lays there. I think Caleb has a friend for life:)

And Kiersten is 11!
We had a little birthday party for her at the lake where we got married with a couple of her cousins. They went swimming and had sandwiches and cupcakes. I had to get her with one of the cupcakes I made...it's like a tradition:)
I can't believe how fast she is growing either!  It seems like just yesterday she was 4 and I had just met her. She is such an amazing little girl and I am so glad to have her in my life!
When she's over at our house, she stays busy with playing on her computer, playing with Caleb, riding her bike, and going to the beach. She has way more energy than I do, that's for sure!  Not many firsts for her at the moment;) but ill keep you posted.

And then there's Bill and I...married a whole year on July 21!  Of course we spent our anniversary with him going racing and me getting called off work and heading up north:). But we're hoping to make up for it with a date night in the near future.
It has been such a fun and exciting year for us. We both stay so busy with work and the kids and its hard to believe how much time has gone by when we finally get to sit down and take a break. But I know this is the first year of many more years to come with many more fun changes:)

How fast it goes!

Can't believe that my little man is almost 6 months old!  It seems like just yesterday we were in the hospital anxiously awaiting his arrival. Now he is scooting around like crazy and getting his first teeth.

We can no longer put him in one spot and know that he will be there when we come back. He has started grabbing toys and scoots towards the things that he gets his eyes on (like the cats).  His two bottom front teeth are coming in and that has not been a fun process. There have been quite a few sleepless nights for both of us (Bill really doesn't seem so bothered:).

We have also started baby food!  I love seeing his reaction when he tries new things:). He loves all the fruits (what babies don't?), hates peas and green beans (what baby doesn't:), and loves squash and carrots. Those are the ones we've tried so far, but every day is such a new learning experience for both of us.

We found out that he loves ice cream!  Him and momma like to get a cone to share:).

We've also taken our first ride on the boat for the season and Caleb's first trip ever. I'm not sure he was such a huge fan of the life jacket or the cold water we stuck him in, but it wasn't too bad overall.

Kiersten just spent 2 and a half weeks with us as well. She loves her little brother so much and she is such a huge help!  I love having her around, she is such a fun spirited and lovable little girl. There was more than one occasion when I said to her "you talk soooo much" and she just says "I know" and keeps on a going:). But its so quiet when she's not here that the constant chattering starts to grow on you.

It's hard to say what is going on in her life per say, our days together were spent playing at the beach or in the kiddie pool that we bought. She got to hang out with a couple of her friends over here and spent time picking berries with grandma. We have also decided to become "extreme couponers" so she has been helping me to cut coupons amd find the best deals:)

I can't believe how much she has grown up in the 6 years that I've known her. I love how she comes up to her dad and I and gives us random hugs and "I love you's" and tells me that I am "the bestest step mom in the whole world of step moms:)"

I have been busy working and trying not to work as much as possible:). It's so hard to stay at work when you have such adorable kids at home. We have been super low census at the hospital lately, so every time they ask if I want to go home early, it gets harder and harder to say no:)

Bill has taken a new position at work so he is making up for all of the time that I am taking off. Only problem is that he doesn't get paid any extra for all his hours he has been putting in.

That about catches up our lives for the moment. I try to stay on top of these things, but before I know it, it's been a month and a half and I haven't said a word. I'd like to say it will change, but we'll see how that goes;)
